Description

The University of Saskatchewan (USask) and Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) are pleased to announce a Winter Institute in Digital Humanities, scheduled to be held from 8 December 2019 to 22 December 2019 at the IIT Gandhinagar campus. The institute is an international event, being designed and offered in collaboration between the two academic institutions. The Winter institute aims to initiate an interdisciplinary dialogue on digital studies. The course provides a primer to Digital Humanities scholarship. The aim is to open threads and potential areas of reflection in digital studies.

We invite scholars, postgraduate students, researchers, media professionals, freelancers, autodidacts and early career academics to be a part of these stimulating deliberations in Digital Humanities scholarship. The primary purpose is to develop critical approaches/pedagogic methods specific to India and Canada in order to explore changing contours of what may be termed as the “digital turn” in civilizations. The focal areas of this workshop are textual scholarship, social media and ethics, theories of digital media, network society, archiving, open-access digital scholarship, tools, project management, diversity and digital humanities, text encoding initiatives, GIS, and Spatial Humanities.
