I completed my Bachelor’s in English Literature from Jesus and Mary College, Delhi University. My research interests explores the relationship between rituals and games, especially the dual consciousness of players in ritual games, along with cultural memory, game studies, visual anthropology, ethnography, and qualitative research. I love exploring literature and cinema, and I’m always up for an intense game night and unlimited chais.

My research interests include language documentation, linguistic anthropology, human-ecology relations and environmental humanities.

Exploring Animal communication in Mundari language and Culture. Where I am focusing on Animals calls and how Mundari people give meaning those calls.

I completed my Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Jadavpur University, Kolkata. My research interests focus on migration and displacement, citizenship and identity politics.

I graduated in Mass Media from Jamia Millia Islamia. My research interests include media culture, digital society and infrastructures, the public sphere, new media, and political development in South Asia, as well as electoral politics. I enjoy Urdu/Hindi poetry, as well as playing table tennis and cricket, and I welcome conversation over public discourse.

Anupam is an MA student researching gender, mobility, and integration in the Mithila Region of Bihar and Nepal. Her work uses ethnography to explore cross-border marriage migration and women’s lived experiences of integration. Her scholarly interests include migration studies, border studies, gender, and South Asian socio-anthropological studies.

Arati is a Master’s student in the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences at IIT Gandhinagar. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English with minors in Gujarati and Sanskrit from Hemchandracharya North Gujarat University. Her research interests center on wildlife conservation and human–animal interactions. Beyond academics, she enjoys learning new languages and listening to music from around the world. Arati can often be found wandering through the IITGN library, happily lost among shelves of books from every possible discipline.

I explore children’s stories, satire, emotions and philosophy through creative writing. My practice blends rigor with whimsy, showing how ideas can slip off the page to sparkle in everyday narratives, collective action, and playful storytelling.

My name is Elizabeth Lalruatdiki. I am a literature graduate from Mizoram. My research area mainly includes cultural studies, material culture and visual anthropology. I am currently exploring how everyday objects, practices, and visual forms help people express identity and negotiate belonging.

Other than this, I’m keen on exploring biosemiotics as a separate area of interest. Outside of academia, I am a Bharatanatyam dancer and a lover of food and cats.

I am Milind from Maharashtra. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Tuljapur Campus, with majors in Economics, Political Science, History, and Sociology. My areas of research interest include poverty, health, education, caste and public policy. Moreover, I am passionate about writing poetry, singing, and other creative pursuits.

Her academic interests include gender, political behavior, and public policy with quantitative and mixed methods research. Experienced political consultant for Andhra Pradesh’s government and graduated in Political Science and History from Miranda House, University of Delhi.

Salman holds a bachelor’s degree in History with interdisciplinary studies in Data, Democracy and Development from Azim Premji University, Bengaluru. His research interests encompass maritime heritage, history, society and sustainability.

I am Pooja Sharma, a master’s student researching how forest policies and laws influence sustainable urban development. My work includes analyzing long-term vegetation trends using GIS and remote sensing. I am deeply interested in climate change, environmental policy, waste management, and community-based environmental research.

Poushali’s research interests lie in the fields of Environmental Anthropology, Political Ecology and Development Studies.

Prajaktha’s academic interests span gender studies, Eastern Himalayan studies and visual anthropology.

My research interests are Performance studies, Aesthetics and Cultural studies. Other than academics, I enjoy dance, music, exploring new spaces and getting to know different stories.

Shreya identifies as a gender-fluid, an intersectional feminist, and a pansexual person. Her academic interests lie in the locus of feminist studies, gender and caste representations in cinema and literature, and South Asia at large. Her MA research looks into widowhood in Bengali films. A loud advocate for mental health awareness, she credits creative writing, painting, doodling, and traveling for sailing her boat.

Outside of this, they can be found not-paying-attention somewhere, putting henna and champas on their friends, or overwatering the plants on their study.

I’m Soumili, a History Graduate who wanted to see history through an interdisciplinary lens and study allied social sciences. It has been an enriching and fulfilling experience to study the MA course at IIT Gandhinagar, provided it’s different from traditional postgraduate courses in the country. My hobbies include reading non-fiction and painting.

I work at the intersection of space, everyday life, and politics. My curiosity lies in how the mundane performs meaning, how ordinary gestures, routines, and interactions create quiet yet powerful social textures.

I am currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Society and Culture, building on my foundational knowledge from a Bachelor’s in Sociology with Honors. My academic focus is on the interplay between religion and culture, examining how belief systems and cultural practices shape and influence each other.
