Description: Taking up Freud’s famous phrase from 1900. “The interpretation of dreams is the royal road to a knowledge of the unconscious in the psychic life”, we will look at some functions served by dreams in psychoanalysis and the place of dreams in psychoanalytic theory.
Speaker description:
Lila P. Kapur is a psychoanalyst-psychotherapist currently pursuing her training in psychoanalysis at University Paris 8. She completed her M.Sc. in Psychoanalytic Developmental Psychology from University College London and Anna Freud Center in 2011, and her B.A. Psychology, from Lady Sri Ram College Delhi University in 2010. Over the last eight years, she has worked in different contexts in her capacity as a therapist – The Shri Ram School, Rishi Valley School, Snehadhara – a center for differently abled people, and she continues to work remotely with Parivarthan – counselling, research and training center in Bangalore, alongside her private practice.
