Brief Description of the Project:

This project taps the distribution, the technology (including pyro-technology), the inherent knowledge, the trade network and beadings of the age-old furnace wound bead-bangle cottage industries in Purdalpur (Purdilnagar), whose origin is in obscure. It is aimed at not only to record the whole process of bead-bangle cycle, wastes, furnaces, village and people to its detail but also map the entire village vis-a-vis bead furnaces to-the-scale and make a model for any future archaeological problem. Finally, the project evaluates the ethnohistorical data on the basis of scientific analyses.
